INTERPRETATION OF 2007 ACCOUNTABILITY RESULTS

Northwestern Elementary School:

Northwestern Elementary had a 2006 “Baseline School Performance Score” of 111.3.  The “Baseline School Performance Score” consisted of Northwestern Elementary School’s Attendance data as well as the 3rd grade iLEAP scores from Zachary Elementary School (since Northwestern Elementary does not have any testing grades at its school).  Northwestern Elementary School had a Growth Target of 2.0 which means that the school was expected to grow from 111.3 to at least 113.3 on their 2007 “Growth School Performance Score.”  Northwestern Elementary School actually achieved a 2007 “Growth School Performance Score” of 119.5.  This means that Northwestern Elementary School grew 8.2 points!  This classifies Northwestern Elementary School as an “Exemplary Academic Growth” school and they will receive rewards money from the Louisiana Department of Education for their tremendous growth. 

The new 2007 “Baseline School Performance Score” for Northwestern Elementary School is 116.1.  This score includes Northwestern Elementary School’s Attendance data as well as 3rd grade iLEAP scores for the past 2 years from Zachary Elementary School.  Northwestern Elementary School has a 2008 Growth Target of 2.0 which means they are expected to grow from 116.1 to at least 118.1 when School Performance Scores are released again at this time next school year.  We are very proud of the academic performance of the Northwestern Elementary students and we look forward to great scores again next school year!


Zachary Elementary School:

Zachary Elementary had a 2006 “Baseline School Performance Score” of 111.8.  The “Baseline School Performance Score” consisted of Zachary Elementary School’s Attendance data and 3rd grade iLEAP scores.  Zachary Elementary School had a Growth Target of 2.0 which means that the school was expected to grow from 111.8 to at least 113.8 on their 2007 “Growth School Performance Score.”  Zachary Elementary School actually achieved a 2007 “Growth School Performance Score” of 121.7.  This means that Zachary Elementary School grew 9.9 points!  This classifies Zachary Elementary School as an “Exemplary Academic Growth” school and they will receive rewards money from the Louisiana Department of Education for their tremendous growth. 

The new 2007 “Baseline School Performance Score” for Zachary Elementary School is 117.4.  This score includes Zachary Elementary School’s Attendance data as well as 3rd grade iLEAP scores for the past 2 years.  Zachary Elementary School has a 2008 Growth Target of 2.0 which means they are expected to grow from 117.4 to at least 119.4 when School Performance Scores are released again at this time next school year.  We are very proud of the academic performance of the Zachary Elementary students and we look forward to great scores again next school year!

 

Copper Mill Elementary School:

Copper Mill Elementary had a 2006 “Baseline School Performance Score” of 108.8.  The “Baseline School Performance Score” consisted of Copper Mill Elementary School’s Attendance data, 4th grade LEAP scores, and 5th grade iLEAP scores.  Copper Mill achieved a 2007 “Growth School Performance Score” of 109.2, indicating that the school grew 0.4 points.  The new 2007 “Baseline School Performance Score” for Copper Mill Elementary School is 109.3.  This score includes Copper Mill Elementary School’s Attendance data as well as 3rd grade iLEAP scores for the past 2 years.  Copper Mill Elementary School has a 2008 Growth Target of 2.0 which means they are expected to grow from 109.3 to at least 111.3 when School Performance Scores are released again at this time next school year.  We are very proud of the academic performance of the Copper Mill Elementary students and we look forward to great scores again next school year!


Northwestern Middle School:

Northwestern Middle had a 2006 “Baseline School Performance Score” of 105.9.  The “Baseline School Performance Score” consisted of Northwestern Middle School’s Attendance data, dropout data, 6th/7th grade iLEAP, and 8th grade LEAP scores.  Northwestern Middle School had a Growth Target of 2.0 which means that the school was expected to grow from 105.9 to at least 107.9 on their 2007 “Growth School Performance Score.”  Northwestern Middle School actually achieved a 2007 “Growth School Performance Score” of 110.8.  This means that Northwestern Middle School grew 4.9 points!  This classifies Northwestern Middle School as an “Exemplary Academic Growth” school and they will receive rewards money from the Louisiana Department of Education for their outstanding growth. 

The new 2007 “Baseline School Performance Score” for Northwestern Middle School is 108.6.  This score includes Northwestern Middle School’s Attendance data, dropout data, and 6th, 7th, & 8th grade LEAP/iLEAP scores for the past 2 years.  Northwestern Middle School has a 2008 Growth Target of 2.0 which means they are expected to grow from 108.6 to at least 110.6 when School Performance Scores are released again at this time next school year.  We are very proud of the academic performance of the Northwestern Middle School students and we look forward to great scores again next school year!

Zachary High School:

Zachary High had a 2006 “Baseline School Performance Score” of 103.0.  The “Baseline School Performance Score” consisted of Zachary High School’s Attendance data, dropout data, and 10th & 11th grade GEE scores.  Zachary High School achieved a 2007 “Growth School Performance Score” of 100.8, indicating a slight drop from the 2006 Baseline School Performance Score.  The new 2007 “Baseline School Performance Score” for Zachary High School is 104.9.  This score includes Zachary High School’s Attendance data, graduation data, and 9th, 10th, & 11th grade LEAP/iLEAP scores.  This 2007 Baseline score reflects a change in the state’s high school score calculations which now include data regarding the high school graduation rate.  Zachary High School has a 2008 Growth Target of 2.1 which means they are expected to grow from 104.9 to at least 107.0 when School Performance Scores are released again at this time next school year.  We are very proud of the academic performance of the Zachary High School students and we look forward to great scores again next school year!
