All schools in the Zachary Community School District will be intensive, learning communities that achieve and sustain academic excellence.

Mission Statement
To
provide every student with the opportunity to achieve academic excellence by ensuring that students at every level are encouraged to participate in a high quality, challenging, inquiry-based curriculum.

Goals and Timeline (September 2006)
  • Elementary and middle schools achieve a School Performance Score of 110 within 2 years.
  • High school achieves a School Performance Score of 115 within 2 years.
  • All schools achieve a School Performance Score of 120 within 5 years.
  • 80 percent of students score Basic or above within 2 years.
  • 90 percent of students score Basic or above within 5 years.
  • Elementary school achieves an average Survey Battery Percentile Rank on the Iowa test of at least 75 within 2 years.
  • Middle school achieves an average Survey Battery Percentile Rank on the Iowa test of at least 70 within 2 years.
  • High school achieves an average Survey Battery Percentile Rank on the Iowa test of at least 60 within 2 years.
  • All schools achieve an average Survey Percentile Rank on the Iowa test of at least 75 within 5 years.
  • Elementary and Middle schools achieve an attendance rate of 96.5 percent within 2 years.
  • High school achieves an attendance rate of 95.5 percent within 2 years.
  • The ZCSD ranks #1 in the state in the District Performance Score every year District Performance Scores are released.
Areas of Strength (September, 2006)
  • Substantial growth in School Performance Scores for all schools in 2005.
  • Principals, teachers, and students at all schools committed to high academic standards.
  • High percentage of students in district score Basic or above on LEAP21/GEE21
  • More than 60% of 2003-04 Zachary High School graduates were enrolled in a Louisiana college or university in Fall 2004 (one of only 2 districts in the state with a rate of 60% or above)

Areas for Improvement (September, 2006)·      

  • Increase the percent of students in the Students With Disabilities subgroup achieving LEAP scores of Basic or above·      
  • Increase attendance rates at all schools.·       
  • Continue to expand Diploma Endorsement opportunities for high school students
