FEBRUARY 6, 2024

The Zachary Community School Board Meeting was held on February 6, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at 3755 Church Street, Zachary, Louisiana.

The Invocation was led by Mr. Dayton.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Hughes.

Mr. Necaise gave his Superintendent’s Update.

RECOGNITION OF ZACHARY HIGH SCHOOL STATE CHAMPION – SARAH HOUSTON

The board presented a certificate to Sarah Houston.

RECOGNITION OF ZACHARY HIGH SCHOOL LOGAN MCCARTHY – FOUNDER OF BULKY BEARS PROTEIN GUMMIES

The board presented a certificate to Logan McCarthy.

RECOGNITION OF ZACHARY HIGH SCHOOL JROTC ARMED DRILL TEAM – STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

The board presented certificates to the JROTC Armed Drill Team – State Championship:

Mr. Dayton moved to approve the minutes for the January 23, 2024 Resources Committee Meeting, Work Session and Board Meeting.  Mrs. Freeman seconded the motion.

RECOGNITION OF THE CNP LOCAL FOOD GRANT – MUSE 3 FARMS

The board recognized the CNP Local Food Grant – Muse 3 Farms.

APPROVAL OF MOU BETWEEN THE BANK OF ZACHARY AND THE ZACHARY COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT TO ADD A BANK BRANCH IN ZACHARY HIGH SCHOOL

Mr. Dayton moved to approve the MOU between the Bank of Zachary and the Zachary Community School District to add a Bank Branch in the Zachary High School.  Dr. Young seconded the motion.

2022-2023 AUDIT REPORT

Amanda Strebeck of Postlewaite & Netterville, reviewed the 2022-2023 Audit Report with the board.

Mr. Gaines moved to approve the 2022-2023 Audit Report. Mr. Hughes seconded the motion.

APPROVAL OF THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR CALENDAR

Mr. Hughes moved to approve the 2024-2025 School Year Calendar.  Mr. Mackie seconded the motion.
