A specialized, application-based academic program housed at Zachary Elementary School and Copper Mill Elementary School, Zachary Honors Academy offers students a unique learning community within the Zachary Community School District.
ZHA is designed for highly motivated students who thrive in a rigorous, engaging, and accelerated environment and are ready for advanced academic challenge, leadership development, rich opportunities in the arts, and meaningful service learning.

Admission requirements
Applicants to Zachary Honors Academy must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 3.5 GPA in core academic subjects during the previous academic year
- Test Scores
- Incoming Junior Fellows (Grades 3–4)
- Testing required
- Testing Dates: June 23 or July 7, 2026
- Incoming Senior Fellows (Grades 5–6)
- LEAP performance of Advanced and/or Mastery in ELA and Math
- Incoming Junior Fellows (Grades 3–4)
- Conduct requirements:
- Grades 3–5: End-of-year conduct grade of A
- Grade 6: No major disciplinary referrals

- Apply online by June 17, 2026
- Testing Dates: June 23 or July 7, 2026

Students must maintain the following to remain enrolled in Zachary Honors Academy:

- High attendance
- Positive behavior
- Active participation in ZHA leadership and service projects
