Join Our Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC)

Your Voice Matters!

The Zachary Community School District is currently accepting applications for individuals interested in serving on the Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) for the upcoming term.

SEAC provides an important opportunity for parents, educators, and community members to have a voice in supporting and strengthening special education services within our school system. The council provides input, feedback, and recommendations regarding special education policies, procedures, resources, programs, and services for students with disabilities.

Who Are We Looking For?

We encourage applications from individuals who are interested in working collaboratively to support students with disabilities and their families.

SEAC membership includes:

  • Parents or guardians of students with disabilities, who make up at least 50% of the council membership
  • Educators and school district personnel
  • Community members and stakeholders with an interest in special education
  • Individuals who want to contribute ideas, perspectives, and meaningful feedback regarding services for students with disabilities

What Does a SEAC Member Do?

Council members have the opportunity to:

  • Share perspectives and experiences related to special education
  • Provide feedback regarding programs, services, policies, procedures, and resources
  • Identify areas of strength as well as opportunities for improvement
  • Help strengthen collaboration among families, schools, and the community
  • Participate in discussions that support positive outcomes for students with disabilities

SEAC serves in an advisory capacity, providing valuable input to the school system as it continues to evaluate and improve special education and related services.

We want to hear from you!

If you are passionate about supporting students with disabilities and would like to contribute your perspective, we encourage you to apply.
